Body, Mind, Soul
Monday January 30, 2006
I'm sure that some of you reading this right now may have a few health issues, whether it be physically-a cold or stomach ache; mentally-Satan likes to get in our mind and tell us we aren't good enough, not wanted or needed; or maybe it's spiritually- have trouble sleeping at night, always anxious about everything, haven't laughed since...well...you don't know when? All of these are symptoms of health issues. Health is much deeper than a physical need for excercise or working out, a healthy mind will keep you sane and help you to have wisdom when the time is needed. A healthy soul and spirit is more important than you probably realize. A healthy spirit will help you to actually live your life and not just go through the motions. The Romans may have killed Jesus, but they certainly couldn't take His life. Many of us are holding on to grudges, with unforgiveness. You've got to learn to forgive people, not for them, but for YOU! While you're all mad at some person for doing you wrong, they are sleeping at night! They aren't losing ONE night of sleep while you may be lying awake at night worrying! Set yourself free and forgive them. I have a few suggestions: Ladies, there is a book out called Captivating. It is such an amazing book and will help you realize that it's okay to be a woman and to be emotional. If we weren't emotional then how would anyone know the tender and soft side of God. If you've been hurting and just don't feel worth much, give this book a try. As young girls we've dreamed of Prince Charming or The Knight in Shining armor. Someone to sweep you off your feet and send you flowers and hold your hand just strolling through life...Found Him yet? Just keep looking UP. Another suggestion: I've found that excercise in the morning will help you have more energy throughout the day. I know, I know, when you think of excercise you think of getting all worn out from working so hard. Well, this is true, but, it's a good tired feeling and will help you throughout the day. The first day you try it, it may be a bit rough if you aren't use to getting up that early, but I suggest to just try it for at least a week. If you don't like it, you can surely go back to the way you were doing it before. Last suggestion(..well, no promises) First day: Squat 4 sets of 20(4x20) So, do 20 squats 4 times. Walkig Lunges: 4x20 Leg Extention: 4x20 Leg Curls: 4x20 If you don't go to the gym the try doing the first 2 without weights and then try Squat jumps 4x20 and It's a start! Good luck and God bless! Okay...so when you think of health I'm sure that most of you think about working out, eating good, and maybe doing a bit of aerobics or running of some sort. Those are a wonderful start, but there is so much more! We often focus on our outward appearance and not our inside. For all of you health and fitness fans (me included!) take a step back and look at your soul. How do you feel? When is enough going to be enough? What will it take to make you happy about your looks or your figure? So many times I wake up and look in the mirror and think "well, once I lose this.." or "once I build this..." I can be happy. My mind can be at ease. WHAT??? Are our days not numbered and our minutes not limited? What a way to start the day huh. Being a woman of God is sure freeing. You can work out, eat right and run all you want to, but unless your mind and soul are focused on Jesus Christ you will never truly be happy with you. My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. I do what I can to eat in a way I believe Jesus and the Apostles did. One thing that I have always wanted to do and am still working on it Jesus does in the Bible. You know when hard days and times come or big decisions are needing to be made, we decide to fast and pray much more than usual. Well, if you look in the Bible Jesus was ALWAYS prepared. He fasted and prayed enough that he didn't have to take the time to do that when Satan came knocking. Oh, I want to be like that! Prepared. Keeping your body healthy is very important. If you are always sick or tired or restless or irratable or unhappy with who you are, then what help will you be to others? There's nothing uplifting about someone who hates themselves and their life. So, this is what my blogs will be about. Health and fitness of Body Mind and Soul. I've still got a lot to learn in all areas but it will be fun "growing" (corny I know!) together! Some background: Growing up in high school I was actively involved in cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, track, and what ever other sport they would let me in!Fun stuff! My senior year I was chosen to cheer in the London New Year's Day parade in Europe! What a blast! I was able to cheer and stunt with some of the UCA (Universal Cheerleading Association) staff and toured London and had a blast! I was also accepted to cheer at a Christian College in Indiana. I've worked at several gyms and was a teacher's assistant for weight training at my first college. I grew up in a Christian family with a father who was a preacher! I love my family and have been taught so very much by them! I miss you! My husband plays the guitar and sings for our church and I sing with him as well. God has blessed us to be involved in a church that is just recently started and we are excited to see where it goes. Shine your favor on us Jesus.
So, I will be starting next week and posting work-out ideas that I have used to tone and strengthen. I will also be posting bible verses and recipes for all sorts of different things! May God bless you in all you do today and take care! let me know any feedback that you may have! Byeeeeeee!
fun quotes: "God answers prayer, not advice." "You only love God as much as you love the person you love least." "Did you ever notice that people who are late are often jollier than the people who had to wait on them." hehe :)
